Edible Stories was first launched in a small dorm room by Elie Shimaoka, who hoped to create a platform where students passionate about cross-cultural connections through food, like herself, could share their voices and highlight different stories from around the world. Though not professional, Elie believes that Edible Stories holds importance in many ways: students are able to report from their unique perspectives and publish narratives that are meaningful to them. Through this platform, she aims to foster a community where students can connect with one another through their shared love for food and culture, despite their differences.
